Valerian root (valeriana officinalis) is derived from a plant native to Europe and Asia. The root of this plant has been used for thousands of years as a remedy for various ailments including sleep problems, disorders of the nervous system, calming and relaxing. It is believed that valerian root has an impact on the availability of the neurotransmitter GABA in the brain. Contains NO: Wheat, yeast, corn, dairy, eggs, pork, soy or gluten. Adult Dosage: 1–2 capsules daily, taken a half an hour to 1 hour before bedtime, or as directed by a health care practitioner. Caution: Consumption with alcohol, drugs or health products with sedative properties is not recommended. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
